    When you listen to the Shacks' self-titled debut EP, you might imagine that Shannon Wise and Max Shrager are much older than their respective 18 and 20 years. But when Shannon s whisper-vocals breeze through the speakers, you hear the youthfulness of their sound which then in turn explains the fearlessness of their songwriting/5(15).

    Oct 29,  · The Shacks exciting debut EP contains the hit single "This Strange Effect" (yes, I became familiar with it from that Apple i-phone TV commercial)! That song is wonderful blissful!!! Originally written by Ray Davies, but never recorded by The Kinks (they did, however, perform it live). It was originally recorded by Dave Berry in /5(5).
